Extended Day Term 1 Week 3

This week we have enjoyed our shared reading with the book “We’re going on a bear hunt”. We talked about predicting a story by looking at the cover and discussing what the story might be about. We then followed this theme into our creative arts and drama and acted out the story and illustrated our own books using a variety of different media. Wednesday is our experiment day, and this week we talk about whether something as soft as rain can dissolve something as strong as rock. The children really enjoy watching what happens over the week and have been sharing with the class their triumphs at home. In English we are looking at our initials, learning new sight words and have been doing handwriting. In maths we looked at position. The children have been working really hard.
