Kindy enjoyed their first excursion for the year on Friday! A walking adventure to a local park for a picnic lunch and special time together exploring our local area.
On Friday, the Kindy class waited with eager anticipation to see if they could go on their excursion. At the last minute it was decided to take a chance with a break in the weather and they headed off to the park.
The children walked with their partners across the school car park and then along the footpath, making sure that they checked driveways for any reversing cars. They looked at the different road signs and talked about what they meant as they were walking. They looked both ways, looking and then listening carefully for cars before crossing the road.
After having a picnic, the children had an amazing time at the park. The merry go round was very popular, as was the slippery dip and swings. The children enjoyed digging in the dirt to make tunnels and holes. The merry go round had a great workout. Some children needed to have a rest on the mat after spinning around and around and around…
All in all , their first excursion for the year was a success and the children had a ball!
