The children are enjoying a balance between working alone and in small groups. When a child has chosen a task to work on alone, they require time to concentrate, process information and practice.
The other children are reminded to respect each other’s right to work uninterrupted.
The children also enjoy times working together, sharing the learning experience, contributing ideas to the group, co-operating, sharing and negotiating.

There are plenty of opportunities for group learning in the afternoons. We have two lovely new carpets which arrived rolled around long tubes. These tubes became great tunnels for the cars but also great resources for developing skills in turn taking, sharing, patience and respect for each other.
